Our mountaineering days take place in The Lake District, Cumbria.
Mountaineering is an ideal activity for people who enjoy walking in the mountain fells and want to take it a bit further.
Our aim for a day would be to gain a mountain summit by scrambling up easy rock scrambles on the way.
This could include classic ridges like striding edge or sharp edge, Jacks rake or less well know scrambles. Either way, we aim to teach you about moving around safely on rock which does not require the use of a rope. (Occasional rocky steps may require use of the rope for a brief period and we carry a rope to give you reassurance if it is needed)
Group sizes will vary depending on the type of scramble or route you want to try so please either email or phone us to discuss possibilities for your group.
We can arrange events to last either half a day or a full day.
All safety equipment is provided by climb365. All our mountaineering instructors hold Mountain Instructor Award or above.
In the past we have catered for all kinds of groups; school groups, stag do's, hen do's, scout packs, 40th birthdays, summer camps, friends day out... The list go's on.
Mountain scrambling or mountaineering can be either a half or a full day activity.
Should you choose a half day, there are several low level scrambling routes that can be accessed and climbed in a morning. It is unlikely that you will be able to summit a peak in this time and the emphasis of the morning will very much be on the scrambling. You will gain confidence in movement on rock and your own abilities and route choice.
A full day gives us much more scope to enjoy the mountains. We plan the day as a journey taking in several scrambles on the way to a summit. e.g. scramble up Raven crag Langdale followed by scrambling above to reach Harrison stickle. Scramble up Jacks rake to reach the summit of Pavey ark. Return to the car.
An alternative day might involve doing Sharp edge and Halls fell ridge followed by a slightly harder scramble on Shepherds crag.
What ever the structure of your group we can work with you to create the day that you want. As a group booking, we can also be flexible within the day and change things as they seem necessary.
Please contact us either by phone or email to discuss your groups day out.
