tyrolean traverse

A Tyrolean traverse is a great experience for everyone and is an ideal activity for a group of friends or collegues.

A tyrolean traverse or rope bridge is a way of getting across a gorge using a tight rope and harness.

You will find yourself dangling just below the rope in your harness, being pulled across to the other side by your friends.

It is a truly trust building activity.

This activity works well as a stag do or hen do, with groups of friends or families.

We are AALA licensed and therefore able to instruct groups of children and young people under 18 without their parents being present.

In the past we have catered for all kinds of groups; school groups, stag do's, hen do's, scout packs, 40th birthdays, summer camps, friends day out... The list go's on.

Course programme

This activity is usually a half day activity and can be run in conjunction with abseiling or other rock climbing activities to make a great day out.

We work with groups of up to 8 per instructor.

For most of the venues, 2 instructors are needed to rigg and run the tyrolean.

It usually takes about 20 minutes for us to set up the traverse. You can be involved in this process if you wish.

Crossing the traverse is great fun for everyone as it requires team work from the group. You need to be pulled across the second half of the traverse by your friends at the other side.

Essential information

Climb365 will provide all of the safety equipment including harnesses, helmets and ropes. You will need to provide your own transport. On the day, you should wear loose fitting trousers as you will be hanging in a harness to cross the traverse. There are no other particular clothing requirements. All you need to bring is your sense of adventure.

We charge per instructor per day or half day.
This activity requires two instructors. Please add an additional £160 for full day, or £125 for the half day to the group rate below.

All of these activities can be run on a max 1:8 ratio. This is to offer you the best ballance between a quality level of attention and value for money.

Each of these group activities can be booked as either a full group day or a half group day and the choice of date and activity is up to you.
