Three men on a mountain scrambling course in Scotland.

Learn winter scrambling

Course description

The learn winter scrambling course is a 2 day course designed for winter walkers who would like to try something a little more challenging.
Winter scrambling is a great activity and can be combined with a days winter walking.
It involves using a mountaineering axe and crampons to climb small rocky steps/move along rocky ridges possibly with the safety of a rope. On the winter scrambling course, we aim to teach you the techniques needed to use the rope, place any gear and move up the scrambles efficiently using axe and crampons.
There are some beautiful scrambling routes in Scotland that take you to the top of a mountain peak and give a great sense of satisfaction.
Some previous winter experience is beneficial though not essential and a good degree of hill fitness is essential to get the most out of the course.
